In October 2012, Easter Island was my second leg of my Lima - Easter
Island - Cuzco - Machu Picchu trip. Took a late night - early
morning flight to Easter Island. Met a new friend, Jackie, at the
Lima Airport and enjoyed dinner with her each night in Easter Island.
Over the four days on Easter Island, did one
full-day tour and two half-day tours of the island. Also attended
an Umu Ta’o, a traditional dish from the Easter Island. The oven is a pit dug in the ground, in which vegetables, seafood and a variety of meat is cooked over heated stones,
covered all with bananas leaves and finally soil.
Flew back to Lima to meet up with my niece Stacey.
