I have visited Florida so many times I have lost count! For several
years I was visiting Walt Disney World on a yearly basis!
My first visit was as a child, my parents and me visited
Walt Disney World in Orlando. I remember them riding the Flying
Dumbo ride.
In the 80's, I visited Walt Disney World with my
friends Pam and Sonya. We stayed at the Contemporary Resort Hotel. I visited
Orlando again as part of my Florida, California and Vegas trip. I flew from
Orlando to Los Angeles.
In the 80's, I traveled to Key West using one of
Eastern Airlines "Weekender" packages.
During the 80's, 90's, and 00's, I have traveled to
Orlando to visit Walt Disney World and Universal Studios (not always
both on the same trip)
alone, with my nephews (Michael, Kenny and Chris) using the train two
times, with Tom (via the Baptist Church van via Tampa), with
my sister Frances and her children (Stacey, Amy and Matthew), with Jimy and Josh,
with Jeff,
with Kris, with Alberta and her family. During some of these trips
I visited the Kennedy Space Center and SeaWorld.
In 1994, on a visit to Orlando with Jeff and my
nephew Kenny we rode a Hot Air Balloon.
In the 90's, I traveled to Miami with Jeff, then
drove to Orlando where he later met me.
In the 00's, I traveled to Daytona, to watch Jim
and Will (co-workers at OASAS) race their motorcycles at Daytona
Speedway.
In 2007, visited Walt Disney World, staying at the
Pop Century Resort on property (as they say at Disney). Went to all
four parks, I even went on Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain!
The highlight of the trip was the
Around the World at Epcot
tour on a Segway. Michael and Lamont were awesome hosts.
My tour ended abruptly since I failed to heed their advice to pay close
attention to the wheels and railings.
In 2007, visited Tampa with Bill. We flew on
Spirit Airlines from Atlantic City. The roundtrip airfare was
$20.90!! We visited the
Salvador Dali Museum and stayed in
Ybor
City at the
Hampton Inn. I rode the trolley to downtown Tampa, we
had dinner in Ybor City and had lunch at a
Steak
'n Shake.
In 2009, visited Walt Disney World, staying at the
Pop Century Resort. Went to SeaWorld, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood
Studios and Epcot. Took the Keys of the Kingdom tour at the Magic
Kingdom. Also took the UnDISCOVERed Future World tour at Epcot.
Celebrated by 49th birthday during this trip. After my visit I
travelled to Mexico.
In January 2011, visited Universal Studios for the The Wizarding World of Harry
Potter. This trip showed me that Universal Studios is the not the park
for me, they have too many thrill rides which I do not enjoy. I
discovered that Walt Disney World has rides/shows more suited to my
taste. Therefore, I visited all four parks at Walt Disney World
over the next three days. I also met up with my New Haven co-worker Peter and
his fiancé Anne at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney.
In December 2011, visited Walt Disney World,
staying at the All Stars Sports Resort. Was able to see snow
falling on Main Street during the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
Also attended the Holidays Around The World – Candlelight Processional
at EPCOT Center.
Other trips occurred between 2011 and 2019, will
try to provide details at a later time.
In August, 2019, visited Miami and Orlando
(Universal Studios) with Dre and Davon. Attended the Hoop-De-Doo
Musical Revue with Dre for my birthday.
Billy rented a Vacation home in Key West from
November to December 2021. In December, I visited for over 2 weeks from
December 11 to December 26. It was an awesome trip. Dre
visited for a couple days. Stacey also visited for a few days.
Went to drag shows, had great meals, did shopping. It was the best
vacation in my life! Even was able to work remotely.
In May 2022, visited Orlando with Dre. I visited
Walt Disney World. He attended a Ball.
In September 2023, visited Miramar Beach to
celebrate Billy and Chip's bachelor party.
In July 2024, visited Orlando, worked remotely,
visited Disney Springs and attended the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue.
