I have visited Las Vegas so many times I have lost count!
When I was a child, my parents, sister and me visited
Las Vegas. My sister and me threw ice cubes from our balcony onto
the people sitting around the pool. Hotel security came to the
room and told us to stop.
In the 80's, I visited Las Vegas alone the first
time as part of my Florida, California and Vegas trip. I flew from
Los Angeles to Vegas spent one night, and flew back to Los Angeles.
During the 90's, and 00's, I have traveled to Vegas
alone, with Jimy and Josh, with just Jimy, with just Josh,
with Alberta (meeting up with her family), with Bill.
On a sad note, on my way home from Vegas in October
2001, my mom passed away as I was on the plane. When I landed at
BWI, I had a phone message telling me the sad news. The last time
I spoke to her was from a phone booth in the New York, New York casino.
I had not told her of the trip since I was afraid she would worry since
it was so soon after 9/11. I had bought her salt & pepper shakers
which I put in her casket.
One time in the 00's, Jimy and me drove from Los
Angeles to Vegas for the day, while Josh was doing a photo shoot in Los
Angeles.
In March 2007 visited as part of my Vegas
then Michigan and Wisconsin trip.
In August 2012 attended the Star Trek Convention at
The Rio casino. Purchased the Captain Chair's package which
included an assign seat in the main auditorium, an exclusive Captain
Chair dinner as well as a Dessert Party. Missed the dessert party
since I was so tired that night. At the Star Trek Bingo game, I
got a full card for the last game, but so did 3 other people, however
lost the tie breaker. Visited the Gold Coast casino to play Bingo
(which I won $50) also attended their buffet. Scott Muth, a friend from
high school, dropped by and we caught up some. Even though the Star Trek
convention was interesting, I doubt I would attend another unless it was
close to my home. The actors from Voyager were the most
entertaining. I was disappointed in the actors from Star Trek:
The Next Generation.
In July 2014, visited Las Vegas while Bill and Keith
where in town for an educational convention that Keith was attending.
I stayed at the Luxor in a Pyramid room. Attended the Cirque du Soleil show "O" and the convention's final night gala celebration with Bill,
Keith and their friends. I also attended Carrot Top's show at the
Luxor.
In August 2022, visited Las Vegas with Dre, Jonnie,
Bill, and Chip for my birthday. Before the gang arrived I had a
day to myself and drove on the Extraterrestrial Highway. Along the drive
I stopped at the Alien Research Center, which is mainly a gift shop. I
had lunch at the Little A’Le’Inn. The next day the gang started to
arrive. We stayed at the Paris hotel. One day we rented a cabana
at the Paris pool for the day. Billy and Chip bought me a birthday
cake. We all attended the RuPaul Drag Race Live!.
