As a child lived in Chesapeake and North Olmstead.

In August 2006, visited Chesapeake on my road trip to Huntington, West Virginia.

In March 2007, during my road trip with Josh from Baltimore to Los Angeles, we drove through Ohio stopping near Dayton for dinner at Don Pablo's.

In September 2007, during my road trip with Josh from San Diego to Baltimore, we drove through Ohio.

In January 2013, spent the night in Cincinnati, then worked two days (but spent the nights in Kentucky) in Cincinnati teaching Project 2010. The airport for Cincinnati is actually in upper-state Kentucky.  I also visited the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton.  I ate at three different Chili restaurants:  Skyline, Gold Star and Camp Washington Chili.  They all tasted the same to me, but the employees at Skyline and Gold Star were very friendly, not so much at Camp Washington Chili. Also went to Graeter's Ice Cream parlor for their famous ice cream.

In April - June 2015, while working in Parkersburg, WV, I stayed in Newport.

In May 2016, while working in Parkersburg, WV, I visited Marietta to see the play Life Goes On performed by the Mid-Ohio Valley Players.

In August 2017, visited Dayton prior to working in Parkersburg, WV.

In April 2018, while working in Parkersburg, WV, I visited Marietta to see the play Get Smart performed by the Mid-Ohio Valley Players.  I also visited Toledo, to see Whose LIVE Anyway.

In May 2024, after attending Paul Deeter's birthday celebration in Pennsylvania, I drove to Akron the next morning.  I ate at the last remaining stand-alone Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls.  I also attended the 50th Anniversary show of the Praire Home Companion.
