In the 80's, visited Germany with my parents on our European Vacation which started in Ireland circled through Europe and ended in Paris.  I remember we stopped at a Pub for lunch, it was the first and only time my Dad and me shared a beer.

In 2008, flew into Munich then took an express train (first-class) to Berlin.  Visited Berlin for a couple days including a walking tour of Berlin and a train trip to Potsdam.  On the walking tour met Justin (aka Wally) and after the tour we revisited some of the sites and had dinner. We have kept in touch via e-mails for a while, then lost touch, but reconnected in 2012. In 2014 visited Wally and Jake in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Then took overnight train (single cabin) back to Munich and proceeded to Mittenwald (which was recommended by Samantha Brown on her Travel Channel show) and spent the night.  Then returned to Munich where I stayed a few nights.  Visited the Neuschwanstein Castle, which was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle. Did several walking tours including Dachau Concentration Camp.
